Our client is the UK's leading lighting manufacture with international offices and facilities. They have now a requirement for a Chinese speaking Product Engineer in the UK.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the support function of the product design and will enjoy producing high standard solutions and specifications that reflect the design intent and manufacturing information required to construct our products.
An enthusiastic self-starter able to work on their own initiative, as well as working in a team, who can overcome resistance, and adopt a “can do” attitude. In addition the candidate must be motivated and achievement oriented with excellent communication skills at all levels and the ability to persuade and influence others.
Job Description
Help and assist the group product development teams to be able to deliver product to the required lead times.
Talking and liaising with engineers from both UK and China on projects and designs.
Assisting with both specifications and design of products.
Travelling to Chinese manufacturing and design facilities to build links and help develop products.
To work closely with the Director of Group Product Engineering.
Assist with setting up process’s and procedures for the various engineering departments including data management systems.
To create documentation for all products as required.
Required Skills
Chinese speaking (Mandarin)
Ideally qualified to degree level (Preferred, but not essential for degree to be design or engineering bias)
3 years post graduate experience in a design / engineering / product development / manufacturing role preferred but not essential
Driving licence and passport essential
Computer literate with Microsoft Office
Effective planning and organisational skills
Experience of 3D CAD packages ideally AutoDesk Inventor beneficial but not essential
Experience of the lighting industry would be a beneficial but not essential
