FRESHASIA FOODS LTD is one of well-known manufactory by producing frozen Chinese food in the UK and European countries, the site is based in southeast of London, we are looking for a well organised, switched on individual to join our team in this very busy role! Primarily you will be responsible for all of the accounts, processing payroll, invoicing and credit control, previous experience working within an accounts department is essential so that you have an understanding of all the accounts processes. The other 50% of the role involves generally running the office in terms of admin and facilities.
Job Description
You will assist in the day-to-day running of the Accounts Office. Your duties will include;
- Help the Key Assistant Accountant to maintain records of invoices and creditors' payments.
- keep records of all transactions
- responsible for the preparation of accounts payable, invoices and purchase orders,
- Preparing Annual accounts.
- Assisting with PAYE and VAT returns,
- Assisting with petty cash and payroll calculation.
- Assisting with monthly costing calculation.
- Assistant Accountants also process cheques, maintain filing and invoice monitoring systems
- Assistance with diary management and co-ordination of meetings
- Ordering all stationery and supplies
- Collation of documents Agreements (Electronic and Hard copy)
- Filing and retrieving information and documents
- Data entry
- Typing letters
- Managing diaries
- Booking travel
- Maintaining office equipment
- Answering the phone and providing switchboard cover
- Looking after visitors
- Maintenance of departmental holiday charts
- Distribution of incoming faxes
- Document creation and formatting
- Managing new starters, Phone and e-mail list
- As well as carrying out other duties assigned by the Key Assistant Accountant and Director Manager.
Required Skills
Skills
You should be highly organised, and be able to work positively and constructively within the pressurised environment. You should also be able to maintain effective working relationships, respond well to stress, and have good communication and situation management skills. Strong IT skills for data entry, and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel are required.
Specific accountancy skills required for the role include the ability to: record financial information and prepare the production's accounts; process payments; assist in administering the production's floats and petty cash; contribute to the monitoring of production costs; run a payroll in line with Inland Revenue and other relevant Government regulations; and prepare insurance claims. You also have a more general responsibility to contribute to a safe and secure production environment, and they must be able to conduct an assessment of risks in the workplace.
You will need to be highly IT literate as you will be first point of contact for our IT support issues. Discretion is key, as well as dealing with confidential accounts / finance issues you will be required to provide ad hoc PA support to the Company Directors, must be able to deal with sensitive information professionally and discreetly!
Qualifications/Experience
You may possess a BA in Accountancy, or vocational qualifications in accounting (NVQs/SVQs), or otherwise be able to demonstrate that they have acquired the necessary level of competence through work experience, for example as a Cashier, Bookkeeper, or in a junior financial administration capacity. Previous experience in food production is usually preferred, and knowledge of food budgeting and scheduling software is also advantageous.
- Must have the essential sales and management skill.
- Must be good at speak and write Chinese and English.
- Must be able to work flexibility, when necessary
- Must be at least Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from recognized University; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to work legally in the United Kingdom.
