Our client is a multinational and world leader in design, manufacturing of advanced automotive systems and components to global automotive OEM's throughout the UK, Europe, North America and Asia. They now have a requirement for a Quality Control Supervisor who will be responsible for delivering highest quality of parts and service to customers.
Job Description
1. Supervise inspection activities, ensuring that all goods inwards are inspected to the required standard.
2. Ensure that all inspection equipment is calibrated to necessary standards at all times
3. Ensure that quarantined parts are correctly controlled.
4. Liaise with customers regarding quality related issues including rejections and improvement requests including customer visits where appropriate.
5. Liaise with suppliers regarding quality related issues including rejections and improvement requests, including supplier development activities when appropriate.
6. Communicate details of quality issues to other departments to ensure all parties have the relevant information to handle parts correctly.
7. Assess quality requirements for new parts, assessing supplier capabilities and discussing with customers, including supplier assessments where appropriate.
8. Compile documentation (PPAP, ISO etc.) to get approval from customer, based on submissions from suppliers.
9. Supervise quality inspector towards meeting the goals of the department.
10. Report quality status to management on a monthly basis.
11. Other extraordinary assignment by MD relating QC issues.
Required Skills
To succeed in this role you should be educated to degree level and have experience in a similar role, preferably within the automotive sector as a Quality Engineer.You will be PC literate and should be able to understand engineering drawings and have knowledge of measurements. You should be able to work independently; capable of making sound decisions and be able to develop and maintain good working relationships with customers and suppliers.
