An opportunity is now available in the Shanghai Office for a QA Manager.

Job Description

Key Functions:

  • Investigate and implement ways of driving supplier efficiency through the quality processes that allows the project buyers to challenge for greater cost savings. 
  • Develop and implement quality management strategy and plans in conjunction with the operations manager to support and contribute to quality requirements.
  • Manage and develop China QC inspectors to ensure there actions comply with the agreed quality management procedures and checks as laid out in the QMS document.  
  • Be responsible for auditing factories and signing them off as approved for use.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Provide primary point of contact to help deal with QA and QC issues.
  • Champion and improve existing quality procedures to surpass client’s minimum quality requirements.
  • Plan and carry out annual China audits of all suppliers, including any required follow up visits to check and monitor necessary improvements. Publish findings to Operations Manager in China, Regional Sourcing Manager and branch champions.
  • Prepare and update China’s QA manual; control and supervise all amendments and revisions. Through the operations manager this should be shared with branch Champions where appropriate.
  • Work with operations manager to assist in all customer complaints relating to quality issues.
  • Record supplier non-conformance in order to monitor quality and performance levels at the factory. Ensure product quality is being delivered consistently in accordance with the specified requirements.
  • Check and monitor the factory’s QC procedures to ensure they are providing adequate quality inspection and documentation in line with quality standards.
  • Ensure that all China quality related project documentation is being completed by the relevant personnel and suppliers
  • Ensure that all China QC instrumentation and equipment is in good working order including calibration requirements classified by company and national standards.
  • Carry out regular meetings with the Project Managers and Operations Manager to advise on how the supplier can improve existing procedures and implement new processes to drive efficiency and best practice to therefore lower cost.
  • Where applicable, ensure the verification of documentation and certificates for materials purchased by vendors, especially relating to special performance materials and possible hazardous materials.
  • Set and review KPI’s for each QC Inspector to suit their individual needs.  Carry out QC training in order to improve personnel, processes and operational efficiencies within the department. All details of KPI’s and improvements to be logged on the individual’s personnel record. Carry out appraisals for the QC Inspectors.
