JOB TITLE: Purchasing Assistant Account Handler

Job Description
The main areas of involvement will be:
- Working directly under 2 Account Managers to provide support on 3 key accounts
- Reacting to client briefs to source products and quoting prices to win orders
- Liaising with clients on a regular basis via telephone/email.
- Liasing with our agents in China on a regular basis for enquiries / orders
- Communicating with factories to assist the team when problems / issues arise.
- Placing purchase orders with suppliers, preparing forms to accompany purchase orders.
- Ensuring that outgoing samples are correctly labeled with sample tags.
- Learning safety testing procedures to ensure that pre-production samples comply with safety regulations.
- Helping to find new products and factories through trade catalogues and the internet.
- Assisting production department on orders where needed.
- Helping to keep up to date in retail fashion trends, to help identify new trends in markets.
- Assisting the team in answering the telephone and message taking, when required.
- Keeping a record of all documentation between ourselves, the factory and the client so that all legal paperwork is accounted for.
- Instructing factories when pre-production samples have been approved and tested to ensure they manufacture to the standards and timeframe we require.
- Requesting production samples and ensuring that samples are sent and received.
- Ensure that shipments are made by the factory and goods arrive to deadlines., when required.

Required Skills
Ability to multi-task (deal with more than one client at a time).
Good attention to detail.
Fast learner.
Has the aptitude to absorb a lot of information and apply it quickly and effectively.
Some experience of dealing with Far East suppliers and/or UK clients will be an advantage.
Fluent in English and Chinese speaking. Good written English.
