The company is a leading bathroom furniture supplier in the UK. They have representative office in ShenZhen. With rapid business expansion, they have now requirment for a bilingual Quality Inspector Engineer to be based in Ningbo area.
Job Description
1. Position reports to General Manager Operations, Bath England.
2. Setting QA compliance objectives with all suppliers and working with them to improve performance.
3. Work with factory principals & operating staff to ensure full understanding of specific product quality requirements.
4. Carry out quality inspections on both new & existing products (as directed) ensuring inspected goods comply with specification.
5. Assist suppliers in their understanding & interpretation of specifications of new products.
6. Identifying relevant quality-related training needs within suppliers & arranging for their implementation with factory principals.
7. Collating, analyzing & reporting on supplier QA performance against defined parameters.
8. Ensuring ongoing tests and procedures are properly understood, carried out and evaluated and that product modifications are investigated if necessary.
9. Persuading reluctant suppliers staff to change their way of working to incorporate recommended process improvements.
10. Liaising with third party auditors and ensuring the execution of corrective action and compliance with customers' specifications.
11. Assist Product Development team in the preparation of new product specifications and the maintenance / updates of existing product specifications.
12. Ensure the availability of new product samples for the purposes of assessment, sales presentations / photography and exhibitions.
13. Work with suppliers to overcome technical challenges resulting from specific new product development projects.
14. Carry out audits / assessments of potential new suppliers & preparing appropriate reports.
15. Oversee the application of appropriate environmental and health/safety standards.
Required Skills
The jobholder should have an excellent command of the English language both spoken & written and will be employed through our Representative Office in Shenzhen.
The candidate should ideally live close to Ningbo and would be expected to work from home.
The jobholder should be of graduate calibre preferably with an appropriate Production Engineering / Engineering based qualification.
The jobholder should possess some previous experience of working with Western organizations & preferably with similar or at least consumer durable products.
Be prepared to travel extensively.
